Black Belt – The Meaning
Black belt is considered the beginning of being a true Martial Artist.
The black belt test is considered an invitation into an ancient and higher level of inheritors and practitioners that go back hundreds of years.
Some believe thousands of years. After your black belt test you become the MUSA (an ancient term used for warrior Martial Artist).
The beginning stage is full of challenges.
Completing your black belt test is like just completing law or or medical school.
Now it’s time to be what you have worked for and your first year is an entire test of its own.
Just coming out of law school or medical school doesn’t make you a good lawyer or a good doctor.
Even if you have lots of talent, you will still need to do the work and the time to become good and eventually be great.
The black belt also means that you are a representative of your school, your system of Martial Arts, the Martial Arts community as a whole and most of all, your master.
B eyond your belief in your limitations lies your freedom
L eadership is an honor and a duty
A person’s worth is only as great as their belief in themselves and their service to others
C ommitment is the cornerstone and the strength of the black belt
K nowing what is right and doing it separates the
extraordinary from the ordinary
